Tulip Days at Hope Flower Farm and Winery
Explore the Splendor of Spring:
Join us for an adventure through the vibrant fields of Hope Flower Farm and Winery during their annual Tulip Days celebration! This video tour showcases the sprawling beauty of the tulip gardens, awash with colors that span the spectrum. As we took in the sights, we picked our way through rows of tulips, finding ones to take home to prepare for next spring. We also visited the winery, farm store, tasting room, and picnic grounds, enjoying a wonderful day.
Hope Flower Farm and Winery is a family-owned event space, floral education retreat, and working farm. You can find our 25 lush acres tucked deep in rural Northern Virginia near Leesburg in Loudoun County. In addition to the flowers, it is worth visiting the working winery, where you can enjoy their selection of Spring Wines. They take pride in their wines from renowned regions such as Spain, Italy, France, Napa, and beyond. In addition to wine, they make a fan favorite—Jack Cat Hard Cider, which is made with locally grown apples.
How To Pick Tulips To Harvest The Bulbs
During this visit, we discovered a delightful aspect of their tulip garden that I’m excited to share. At Hope Farm, visitors have the unique opportunity to pick tulips directly with the bulbs attached. This adds to the experience and serves a purpose when you take them home.
Here’s how to care for your tulips after your visit: Place the bulbs in a vase or container with a small amount of water. This setup should be maintained until the flower itself dies. At that point, you can remove the dead flower and store the bulb in a cool, dry, dark place until fall. When autumn arrives, these bulbs can be planted in your garden.
However, a crucial tip to remember is that if you detach the tulip from the bulb before the flower has completely died, the bulb will likely only produce greenery in the following year without any blooms. By following this tip, you can ensure that your garden will be just as vibrant and colorful next spring as the one at Hope Farm.
Whether you’re a flower enthusiast, a wine lover, or simply searching for a peaceful escape into nature, Tulip Days at Hope Flower Farm and Winery promises a delightful sensory adventure. Don’t forget to visit us in person for the whole experience—complete with special events, tastings, and workshops celebrating spring’s beauty.
